The name "Oaxaca" comes from the Nahuatl word Huāxyacac, meaning "place of the huaje trees", a tribute to the native Guaje tree that flourishes there. Beyond its breathtaking landscapes, Oaxaca is a region rich in culture, tradition, and a deep connection to the land.
